      Job Summary

      The Simulation Specialist at RTDS Technologies Inc. will join our Technical Customer Support team and be responsible for providing simulation training & support to RTDS customers. The Simulation Specialist will also participate in the development and documentation of example cases of power system simulation cases, and new component model development for the RTDS Simulator.

      Position Responsibilities

      • Develop and document example cases of power system simulation cases. This will require keeping up to date with the latest technologies and techniques being applied in today’s modern power systems
      • Provide simulation support to RTDS customers (by email and/or telephone)
      • Participate as an instructor for training courses held at RTDS Technologies office
      • Participate in installation and commissioning of RTDS simulators at customer sites and provide instruction on its operation
      • Develop new basic controls and component models for the RTDS simulator
      • Test new RTDS software functions and features as they are developed and implemented
      • Other duties as may be assigned

      Qualifications

      • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with a power systems focus
      • Understanding of power systems/power electronics is required
      • Experience with programs such as PSCAD, RSCAD, MATLAB, preferred
      • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to travel (up to 20% of work time)
