  Job Title: Sit Down Forklift Operator

  Job Description

  This position involves operating a sit-down forklift and performing manual labor in a warehouse that deals with pharmaceutical supplies. The role requires repetitive lifting of up to 50lbs and handling of small boxes. Responsibilities include manually receiving and shipping goods, as well as operating the forklift around the facility and in and out of trailers. New employees may initially spend less time on the forklift as they learn company processes from lead employees.

  Responsibilities

  • Operate sit-down forklift in a warehouse setting.
  • Perform manual lifting of items weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Manually receive and ship products.
  • Transport goods within the facility and in and out of trailers.
  • Learn and adhere to company processes and workflows.

  Essential Skills

  • 1 year of experience operating a sit-down forklift.
  • 1 year of recent heavy lifting experience (50lbs).
  • 1 year experience in a distribution center environment.

  Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in a temperature-controlled warehouse.
  • Experience with healthcare or medical distribution.
  • More than 1 year of experience on the sit-down forklift and heavy lifting.

  Work Environment

  The job is located in a medium-sized, clean warehouse in the SE foothills. The facility has office staff, warehouse workers, and forklift operators. The team consists of 13 people on the night shift and 5 on the day shift. The warehouse handles healthcare and pharmaceutical supplies, with a small area dedicated to alcohol. Shipments are made throughout western Canada. The dress code is casual, with steel toes and a safety vest required. The shift runs from Sunday to Thursday, 18:00 to 02:30.

  This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, Alberta.

  Pay and Benefits

  The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
