      Responsibilities /Duties :

      Under the direction of the Senior Program Manager (SPM) , Senior Clinical Research Scientist, and contract project manager(s), the Site Administrator / Neuroscientist will be responsible for:

      • on-site human subject research focused on improving psychologic and neurologic health.
      • Research goals include:
      • 1) investigating the impact of biologic factors on psychologic health through omics analysis, neuroimaging, and analysis of electronic health record data/other relevant medical history;
      • 2) studying the effects of treatment/therapy on brain structure and function;
      • 3) identifying characteristics of responders/non-responders to current treatment to provide better treatment options targeting personalized medicine;
      • 4) investigation of novel treatments/therapies for neurologic and/or psychiatric disease.

      Other responsibilities include:

      • Review journals, abstracts, and scientific literature to keep abreast of new developments and to obtain information regarding previous studies that aid in the planning of new studies.

      • Work with Senior Clinical Research Neuroscientist to address research goals and obtain Institutional Review Board (IRB) approval.

      • Conduct clinical research with assistance of on -site Study Coordinator.

      • Summarize and report data analyses in a clear, concise manner; present results to stakeholders and/or at scientific conferences; create written communication for internal and external purposes; write-up results in technical reports or publication-quality manuscripts.

      • Ensure all documents and datasets are appropriately vetted prior to release outside the organization.

      • Prepare and submit weekly reports to the PM of all activities of the site with no errors; meet with PM /Senior Clinical Research Neuroscientist weekly to keep them abreast of all developments of research and activities on site.

      • Maintain data security in strict compliance with the Privacy Act of 1974, the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and related federal regulations.

      • Comply with human subject(s) research regulations, as overseen by Institutional Review Board (IRB).

      • Work with Information Technology (IT) support personnel to ensure compliance with DoD IT requirements.

      • Utilize statistical /database software packages such as SAS, SPSS, Access, and SQL Server; utilize standard software packages such as Microsoft Office, and Adobe Acrobat.

      • Maintain professional relationships with team lead, team members, investigators, and collaborators.

      • Conduct exploratory data analysis and communicate with team lead/team members; identify improvements for existing data management and recommend requirements for new systems.

      • Test data to identify data integrity issues, making recommendations and coordinating with the team lead to plan solutions; troubleshoot problems concerning database records and analysis, and communicate with team lead/team members; identify improvements for existing data management and recommend requirements for new systems.

      • Supervisory: Serves as office manager to ensure that all administrative responsibilities and requirements are completed with fidelity in partnership with office clinical supervisors, Site Psychiatrist and Supervisory Clinical Psychologist. Serves as office fiscal supervisor, to include ensuring accurate and timely submission of worked hours of all staff on site, providing leadership as a research representative of organization and site, ensures that all systems are working smoothly for maximum efficacy and functioning of office, and has primary responsibility for physical plant. Organize office operations and procedures, coordinate with IT department on all office equipment, Responsible for managing office services by ensuring office operations and procedures are organized, correspondences are controlled, filing systems are designed, supply requisitions are reviewed and approved, Ensure office efficiency is maintained by carrying out planning and execution of equipment procurement, layouts, and office systems, responsible for developing and implementing office policies by setting up procedures and standards to guide the operation of the office. (Does not conduct performance evaluations of any clinical staff.) Supervise s on site Study Coordinators .

      Qualifications/Experience:

      • PhD in Neuroscience, Psychology, Physiology, Biomedical Imaging, or a related discipline with 10 + years related experience in human subject research on mental health, neuroscience, or cognitive psychology.
      • Applicant must have experience as a principal investigator or associate investigator including 4+ years' experience managing research programs to include protocol writing, data analysis, and technical report preparation and production.
      • Future/forward thinking in big data analytics/informatics /systems biology and applying them to contribute to the team’s scientific process is necessary.

      Desired Qualifications/Experience: Performed research in government environment. Analytical skills and knowledge of novel and emerging analysis techniques is highly desired.
