      Overview

      GFT is seeking a Site/Civil Project Engineer to support a variety of projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance at our Baltimore, Pittsburgh, or Reston office.

      Responsibilities

      What you'll be challenged to do:

      This position is full time and can work in either our Baltimore, Pittsburgh, or Reston Civil Engineering, Site and Utilities offices.

      In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

      • Receive instructions from Project Manager regarding engineering tasks to include computations, specifications, reports, and drawings.
      • Develop plans, sections, and details by hand and/or using AutoCAD into working drawings.
      • Produce accurate design work, including layouts, geometry, grading, storm water management, sediment & erosion control, stream, culvert, and roadway alignments. Typical projects are site development in nature to include utilities, sitework, and permitting.
      • Perform environmental field work including natural resources inventories, wetlands delineations, stream restoration/geomorphic analyses.
      • Follow State, Local, SWM and Sediment Control requirements to complete assignments.
      • Prepares complete and timely contract documents.
      • Submits/obtains permits properly and in a timely fashion.
      • Perform construction administration tasks including site visits and answering contractor requests of information.


      Qualifications

      What you bring to our firm:

      • Possession of a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering
      • An active MD, PA, or VA Professional Engineer (P.E.) licensure is required
      • 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering, site design, utility design, SWM, E&SC
      • Knowledge of site engineering, utilities, hydrology/hydraulics, and familiarity with MD, PA, and VA SWM requirements, including environmental site design. Experience using TR-20, TR-55, MS-Word, MS-Excel, and AutoCAD 2016 version, Civil 3D, SewerCAD, WaterGEMS, HydroFlow, GIS-ESRI version 10.
      • Ability to work harmoniously with colleagues and client representatives
      • Regular attendance at our offices (this is not a fully remote position)
      • Mostly indoor office environment, however there may be some occasions where duties would be performed outdoors in all weather conditions. Occasional travel to conduct field reviews or meet with clients. Overtime may be required. Minimal lifting 10-20 lbs.
      • Valid driver’s license required.

      Compensation:

      The Salary range for this position is $70,000-$123,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
