      POSITION OVERVIEW

      Ocean Gate Resort is seeking a Site Host for our resort in Southport, ME.

      JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Split time between the front desk, cafe, retail, housekeeping, and gear rental responsibilities.
      • Learn reservation, POS, and gear rental software. Ensure smooth check-in and check-out for all guests.
      • Make and serve cafe food and beverages and follow rules and policies about food safety and the responsible service of alcohol.
      • Have a working knowledge of how to operate cafe and rental equipment.
      • Learn the general specs of gear in the retail and rental shops.
      • Be able to work opening and closing shifts, and to follow cash handling procedures.
      • Take care of our guests and help answer their questions. Develop a thorough knowledge of room types and amenities, local recommendations and fun things to do in the area.
      • Keep the front desk, cafe, retail, and demo areas neat and organized.
      • Make sure all guest areas are clean, including public spaces.
      • Assist with special events and group meetings, including setup of AV and sound equipment.
      • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

      SKILLS NEEDED

      • A love for showing people a good time , with a deep sense of responsibility for every detail of the guest experience.
      • Great customer service skills and a professional, friendly, low-drama attitude.
      • Strong verbal and written communication skills and a team player mindset.
      • An ability to learn new things quickly.
      • A strong work ethic and a track record of being dependable and trustworthy.
      • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and to keep on task, even when things get busy.
      • Site Host is an active role, involving frequent bending, reaching overhead and squatting.
      • Lifting, carrying, and placing objects weighing up to 30 lbs. without assistance .
      • Pushing/pulling objects weighing up to 50 lbs. without assistance .
      • Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
      • Remaining on your feet for extended periods of time.

      REQUIREMENTS

      • 1+ years previous front desk, cafe, retail, and/or demo gear shop experience preferred.
      • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, and a general level of comfort with using the internet and learning new software programs.
      • Ability to communicate effectively and understand written and verbal instructions in English
      • Must have, or be able to obtain, a State Food Handler Card.
      • Must have, or be able to obtain, a State Alcohol Server Permit.
