      Your Role and Responsibilities

      Site Reliability Engineer, IBM Corporation, Austin, TX: Develop scripts and programs in Python, BASH scripts to maintain and monitor the availability of the cloud service. Review and design the architecture of the system for optimal and reliable performance. Set up standards for the architecture, name conventions, capacity requirements, log systems and identity and access control for the system. Setup identity and access management systems to provide controlled and audited access to the entire system. Design, develop and test backup and disaster recovery of the system. Develop synthetic monitoring scripts for monitoring the availability of the service and generate alerts when service is having issues. Develop infrastructure monitoring to monitor the health and capacity of the system and generate alerts if any of the systems are out of the nominal parameters defined for the system. Setup the container management system on which the code written by the developers will run. Optimize the system for memory and CPU, setup internal networking between the containers based on the architecture of the system. Setup the database architecture, maintain the optimal performance of the database by continuously implementing sharding strategies for optimal performance. Develop automation to keep the infrastructure updated with the latest security updates and patches for compliance. Develop automation to make sure that TLS certificates are updated before they expire. Provide assistance with and debug customer issues. Escalate to development team any bugs that are identified and make sure the bugs are resolved and deployed in a timely manner based on the urgency and criticality of the issue. Write runbooks for mitigating issues identified in various scenarios while running the system. Utilize: Linux, Golang, Travis CI, Jenkins for CD, NoSQL, Kubernetes. Required: Master’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or related (employer will accept a Bachelor's degree plus five (5) years of progressive experience in lieu of a Master’s degree) and one (1) year of experience as a Software Developer or related. One (1) year of experience must include utilizing Linux, Golang, Travis CI, Jenkins for CD, NoSQL, Kubernetes. $144,119.76 - $162,000.00 per year. Full time. H203.
