- Guides and assists others in the areas of building appropriate level designs and gaining consensus from peers where appropriate
- Collaborates with other software engineers and teams to design and implement deployment approaches using automated continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines
- Design, implement and maintain highly available and scalable infrastructure and services in AWS
- Implement and maintain effective AWS based monitoring, alerting and logging to proactively identify and mitigate issues.
- Provide incident triaging, troubleshooting and resolution support for AWS based services and processes.
- Supports the adoption of AWS based site reliability engineering best practices within your team
- Understands service level indicators and utilizes service level objectives to proactively resolve issues before they impact customers
- Formal training or certification on site reliability engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Experience is managing and maintaining AWS based services.
- Experience in Infrastructure as Code development and deployment using Terraform
- Proficient in site reliability culture and principles and familiarity with how to implement site reliability within an application or platform
- Experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, service level objective alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, CloudWatch and others
- Experience working across product and engineering teams to help define SRE standards, drive implementation of SRE approaches and best practices as well as experience in using specific SRE tools and services
- Experience with implementing processes and runbooks to meet and deliver service level objectives (SLOs) as well as implementing tools and capabilities to track and measure performance against these objectives
