The SIU Investigator conducts moderately complex investigations involving suspicions of insurance fraud across business lines. This position independently pursues and documents moderate fact gathering efforts in accordance with Tower Hill Insurance Group’s best practices, and refers matters of insurance fraud to the fraud bureau/regulatory agencies as appropriate.
The successful candidate will work SIU investigations primarily throughout Lee, Collier, Charlotte, and Hendry counties of Florida and must reside in that geographical area; daily travel is required with limited overnight travel. A company car is provided for professional/personal use.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Investigate suspicions of insurance fraud and other irregularities in accordance with Tower Hill Insurance Group’s purpose and values; conduct low to moderately complex investigations with minimal direction.
· Prioritize assignments and conduct necessary field work; exercise independent judgment, initiative and decision making when performing investigations.
· Analyze facts and data, conduct recorded interviews, prepare investigative reports, and recommend investigative direction to Claims Adjusters and Managers as appropriate.
· Provide support to Claims and other departments, which may include identifying training needs, developing and presenting training, and mentoring of business partners and internal staff to raise fraud awareness.
· Attend/initiate meetings with Claims Management. Keep management informed of developments that impact claims results in assigned region / territory.
· Develop and maintain industry, federal, state, and local government contacts involved in fraud investigation, detection and prevention.
· Maintain and pursue technical competency, continuing fraud education within area of specialization through insurance fraud seminars and other company sponsored courses.
