This is an exciting opportunity in Indianapolis, IN for a Skilled Trades Apprenticeship. Learn more about these roles and how you can begin driving your career forward!

General Description

• Depending on trade, scope can be construction/utility based, supporting manufacturing equipment and processes, or both.
• Installs, maintains and repairs industrial manufacturing equipment and utility infrastructure.

Summary

The Skilled Trades Apprentice Program combines on the job training with academic coursework. The successful candidate will be trained in a US Department of Labor certified apprenticeship program to work in a manufacturing environment in one of the following trades:

• Electrician*
• Machine Repair*
• Millwright Welder
• Pipefitter
• Auto, Truck & Trailer Repair
• Transmission Mechanic
• Refrigeration & AC Maintenance
• Stationary Engineer Powerhouse
• Tool & Die Maker
• Carpenter

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to work any shift
• Must be 18 years of age or otherwise compliant with applicable State and Federal laws
• High school graduate or equivalent
• Must be able to qualify for admission to university hosting academic course work.

Additional Qualifications

• Individuals may be given partial credit for prior experience if applicable, including non-industrial apprenticeships or AP high school credits.

Working Conditions and Hazards

• May be required to work with high voltage electricity.
• May be required to work in cramped positions or from ladders, in oils and greases, etc.
• Must be able to pass the industrial vehicle physical examination.

*Most apprentices will be trained as either Electrician or Machine Repair.
