Job Description

- Work with the IMSS to ensure data integrity across Slate databases, Admissions Systems, and University databases.
- Develop and maintain Internal Slate Portals for use by internal-admissions team members to execute application review and processing.
- Work alongside the Senior Associate Director of Operations to build, maintain, and service Slate Portals that are front-facing for prospective students, counselors and recruiters.
- Develop shared query libraries, templates, fields and exports, reports and dashboards for users to track, understand and respond to their work.
- Review and update standard source formats and mappings within the Slate CRM solution.
- Review and update scheduled exports to update campus SIS systems and other systems/programs used by Slate users.
- Contribute to training programs and process reviews for business users in the areas of recruitment/marketing, admissions file review, application processing.
- Contribute to the growth and modification of the Slate CRM platform by acquiring and maintaining knowledge of emerging resources and tools to support Slate users, including keeping up with the Slate roadmap, coordinating release management, and conducting system and user acceptance testing.
- Contribute positively to other duties and projects as assigned.
- Thoroughly read, critically evaluate, and recommend appropriate admission decisions on a small group of highly competitive applications.
- Carry out other admissions-related projects as assigned by the Director or an Associate Director.
- Supervise 2 Operations Support staff.
- Bachelor's degree required as well as familiarity with the activities of an undergraduate admissions office.
- Five years demonstrated production experience with software application development, software product configuration, and/or database management.
- Working knowledge of data management concepts including relational databases, data security, data governance, and system maintenance.
- Previous experience with CRM, document imaging software, admissions and/or university software including Technolutions Slate.
- Experience with SQL.
- At least one (1) year of experience in training users in technical systems and process reviews to understand and best inform business users of system best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to represent the department with external constituents.
- Ability to manage multiple competing priorities at one time; assist with the planning, installation and operation, and effective utilization of multiple software platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team member, adaptable and proactive in problem identification and resolution, critical thinking and acceptance of improved technology and data collection, measurement, and presentation in a fast-paced environment.
- Computer skills must include proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer-related field.
- Production experience with technologies such as HTML, XML, VBA, JavaScript, etc.
- Experience with statistical software (R, SAS, Stata, etc.) and/or data visualization software (Tableau, SAS Viya, etc.).
- Previous experience working in higher education admissions or related field with organizational processes preferred.
- At least six or more years working as a technical team member with experience in managing source formats, data validation and data export settings within the Slate CRM solution.

Job Summary
The Slate Technical Analyst will manage the production, review and maintenance of Portals, Queries, Reports, and automations within the Slate by Technolutions CRM Solution to help modernize processing of applicants to Caltech. Working alongside the Senior Associate Director of Operations, this position will support the analysis of existing processes, identify modernization opportunities, and provide streamlined solutions to support end-users in Slate and will work as a Co-Captain of Slate. This position will help improve the effectiveness and efficiency of operations of Undergraduate Admissions in the areas of recruitment/marketing, admissions, operations, file review and Slate system health.
