      Job title: Slitter Assistant
      BG/BU: AFA- Flexibles North America
      Location: Yuba City, CA
      Job family: Operations
      Reports to (Title): Production Manager

      1. Job Overview
      Assist the slitting machine operation in preparing material for shipment. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.

      2. Job Dimensions

      • Must be able to read and understand a job ticket for pertinent information.
      • Follows food safety guidelines.
      • Cut cores to correct length per specification.
      • Prepare winder shafts with cores in necessary.
      • Splice rolls together.
      • Position roll of material to be slit at the unwind (rear of machine)
      • Carry finished rolls to bench, remove shaft, rebuild shaft and place on slitter.
      • Move rolls with defects to slitting area.
      • Stack rolls properly and neatly.
      • Wrap rolls, weigh if necessary and place roll on pallet with corrugated cardboard for cushion.

      3. Principal Accountabilities

      • Do not touch the sealant side of the web unless necessary to minimize contamination of food contact surfaces.
      • Assists slitter operator in the performance of other routine duties.
      4. Major challenges & complexities
      • Visually inspects food contact paths during preventative maintenance to ensure no visible contamination is evident. Contact supervisor if contamination is suspected.
      • Punctuality and adherence to the company attendance policy are essential

      6. Qualifications/Requirements
      6.1 Formal Qualifications and Experience

      Knowledge and Experience
      • One to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      Education and Certifications
      • High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
      6.2 Knowledge/Skills/Abilities/Behaviours

      Job Specific skills and abilities
      • Must be detail conscious, quality control and safe production oriented.

      Compensation:
      • The starting rate of pay for this position is $18.00 an hour; however, starting pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
