In this role, you'll:

Join TfNSW’s Legal, Privacy and Internal Audit branch as a Senior Lawyer and work collaboratively across the organisation to provide critical legal advice and support for sensitive and complex matters.

Reporting to a Director within the Construction and Major Projects legal team, you will be responsible for providing solutions-focused legal advice and services, on construction, works, and project matters to support the achievement of organisational outcomes, minimise legal risk and deliver on our commitment to our customers, the people of NSW.

You will be involved in:

• Providing high quality legal advice to support project outcomes while addressing legal risk; and
• Proactively and collaboratively engaging with key clients to contribute to achieving the delivery of TfNSW and Government’s goals, including contract development, procurement of projects including supporting negotiations, and contract interpretation and legal advice, and the development of legal solutions in response to problems.

This Permanent position is hybrid-friendly, meaning you can mix in-person days at your team’s home base location, project team locations and remote days from home.

The Salary for this position sits within TfNSW Grade 8 ($128,409-$143,815)

About you

You are an exceptional Legal Professional who has experience working in Construction law, with either front end and/or back end expertise. You possess strong written and verbal communication skills to convey technical legal concepts clearly and succinctly.

As a specialist construction or projects lawyer, you will have expertise in construction or infrastructure project development or delivery. You also hold a practising certificate in NSW. You will model the highest standards of integrity and professional conduct and have the ability to communicate with and influence others effectively. You have a track record providing timely and considered advice and have the ability to collaborate with a range of professionals from legal and non-legal backgrounds, bringing others with you on the journey to share knowledge and raise capability across the business.
