      A person in this position is responsible for officiating youth sport matches/games according to ground rules. Pay rates will vary by sport as well as experience level and will be payed per game.

      Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: arriving fifteen (15) minutes prior to the schedule game time in assigned District uniform; meet with coaches before the game and review any ground rules, unusual circumstances or local field hazards; remain unbiased while officiating the game and avoid verbal contact with spectators; ensure all players are in proper uniform (if applicable) and notify the coach if any programs need to be rectified; sign scorecard and ensure coaches sign scorecard verifying game results (if applicable); turn in scorecards to Athletic Supervisor; check all equipment an field for safety hazards, correct unsafe conditions and/or report them to the Athletic Supervisor; officiate games using house rules as well as official rules; and keep track of game time.

      * Minimum of 14 years of age and able to obtain a work permit.

      * Minimum of one year of experience in officiating youth league games is preferred.

      *Strong understanding of sport which is being officiated.

      * Able to work well with program participants, parents, and fellow staff members.

      * Able to effectively adjust to stressful situations (i.e. disputes between participants)
