- Best Practices in Content Creation: Best practices and trends in social media content creation, including tailoring content to different audiences and creating accessible content.
- Audience Engagement: Best practices in engaging and building audiences through social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
- Social Media Management: Social media management tools, livestreaming, and photo and video editing tools.
- Project Management: Project management processes and practices for digital projects and initiatives.
- Knowledge of Canadian military history is an asset.
We are looking for a Social Media and Community Engagement Officer
As a Social Media and Community Engagement Officer, you will plan, create, and implement engaging digital content for the Canadian War Museum’s social media channels. Creative and attuned to best practices and trends in social media, you will contribute to the success of the Museum’s social media strategy and drive interest in the War Museum’s exhibitions, events, collections, research and other activities. In this role, you will oversee day-to-day social media activities, respond to audience inquiries, and foster community engagement. Working across departments, you will also develop effective relationships to identify content creation opportunities and facilitate staff engagement.

Education: Post-secondary education in field(s) relevant to the duties of the position, including Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or an acceptable combination of education and experience in a creative services environment.
Specific Working Conditions: May require occasional evening or weekend work for events and communications.
Compensation: $ 77,393 to $ 95,778 (E6)
Status: Permanent Full-Time Position (# 10417-01)
Security Level: Reliability Status
Location: 1, Vimy Place, Ottawa (Ontario)Language: CCC.
