      Social Media Assistant Temporary

      Discover Puerto Rico is committed to assembling the best team of professionals and industry experts to design and implement innovative Destination Marketing strategies that will transform Puerto Rico’s visitor economy. We are excited to announce a temporary opportunity for a creative Social Media Assistant to join our team. This role is ideal for a social media enthusiast looking to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment.

      The Social Media Assistant is an integral member of the Organization and is responsible for creating, writing, and editing content for Discover Puerto Rico’s social media efforts.

      Core Responsibilities:

      • Learn Discover Puerto Rico’s brand voice and target audience and adapt it to copywriting and content creation for social media marketing.
      • Understand and interpret creative direction and technical information and turn it into engaging social media content.
      • Write, schedule, and execute daily engaging content for Discover Puerto Rico’s social media channels (i.e., posts, Stories, albums, etc.)
      • Be the brand voice on social, own community management tasks on all channels, and maintain a healthy response time on each network.
      • Maintain a growing knowledge of social media best practices across all channels.
      • Support the creation of weekly and monthly social media copy decks for Discover Puerto Rico’s consumer and MICE segment channels.
      • Curate UGC using our aggregation tool as needed.
      • Monitor engagement and social media followers’ responses to make recommendations for optimal performance.
      • Attend, photograph, film, and cover Live events for social media as needed.
      • Conduct Live broadcasts for Instagram and Facebook.
      • Film on-site, edit, and schedule content as part of our short-form video strategy.
      • Attend partner introductory meetings.
      • Support Management on projects beyond daily content, including social activations, brainstorming sessions, unique campaigns, and creating marketing materials for the organization.
      • Maintain a growing knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry.

      Key Credentials:

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in journalism, marketing, or communications
      • Proficiency in writing attractive and engaging copy for social media platforms
      • Proven success in producing copy for advertising or marketing campaigns
      • Proven experience in creating engaging and unique short-form vertical videos for social channels
      • Fully bilingual (English & Spanish) and proficient in writing in both languages
      • Experience with SEO, content marketing, and social media management
      • Able to work in a diverse, inclusive, and fast-paced environment
