      Department Overview:

      The Center for Integrated Agricultural Systems (CIAS) is a sustainable agriculture and food systems research center in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

      CIAS fosters transdisciplinary inquiry and supports a range of research, outreach and professional development opportunities. It brings together university faculty, students, staff, farmers, policy makers and other practitioners to study relationships between farming practices and profitability, the structure of the food system, the environment, and rural vitality.

      CIAS was created to build sustainable agriculture and food systems research programs that respond to farmer and citizen needs.

      Schedule:

      Hours scheduled between the hours of 8:30 am – 5 pm, Monday – Friday with rare evenings/weekends commitments, flexible scheduling.

      $17.00

      Qualifications:

      • Marketing, communications journalism (desired)
      • Strong familiarity with the business applications of social media platforms (Instagram Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, LinkedIn, etc.)
      • Light Graphic (Adobe Creative Suite) and web design skills (WordPress preferred)
      • Understanding of social media metrics; able to interpret the results and take action to increase effectiveness of social media campaigns
      • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Light Photo editing skills: Experience in optimizing photos, images, graphics for online mediums (web, video, email marketing)
      • Light handling high-end digital cameras, audio equipment

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      High-level copywriting experiences and attention to detail• Marketing, communications journalism (desired)

      Position Summary/Job Duties:

      POSITION SUMMARY/JOB DUTIES:
      • Support and create marketing and social media campaigns, implement company strategies, content ideation
      • Ensure brand consistency in marketing and social media messages
      • Collect customer data and analyze interactions and visits, create comprehensive reports and improve future marketing strategies and campaigns
      • Grow and expand company social media presence into new social media platforms, increase presence on existing platforms e.g., Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
      • Create and distribute engaging written or graphic content in the form of
      e-newsletter, web page and blog content, or social media messages

      Physical Demands:

      May need to lift or move supplies weighing 30 lbs or less.
