      The City of Henderson announces an examination to create an eligibility list and to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Social Media Officer in the Department of Communications. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to one (1) year.

      Under general supervision, coordinates development and implementation of social media communications for the City, maintains positive relations between the public and the City, manages social media initiatives across all departments citywide and performs related duties as assigned.

      A successful candidate will possess professional level experience with the following:
      • Creating, scheduling, and maintaining campaigns with content that is relevant, appropriate, and on trend to engage customers and customer satisfaction
      • Monitoring activity and performance and using data to provide comprehensive, accurate, and timely reports
      • Setting key goals for social media campaigns and approved strategies

      Salary placement for non-represented positions is based on a comprehensive compensation review and takes into consideration the candidate's qualifications as well as internal equity.

      • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college with major course work in public relations, marketing, journalism, communications, or a closely related field
      • Five (5) years of full-time experience in public relations, social media, marketing, journalism, or communications
      • Desirable: Experience as a reporter/writer and on-camera talent with primary responsibility for posting to social media
      • Note: An equivalent combination of related training and experience may be considered
      • Possess and maintain a valid Nevada or “border state” driver’s license, as defined by NRS 483
      • Desirable: Experience supervising professional staff
