Job Description

- Assist Social Media Manager in writing, designing, and executing regular corporate and senior leadership social content calendars and campaigns across all existing and emerging platforms.
- Work with Social Media Manager to ideate, write scripts and execute social-first video content.
- Assist with social listening, monitoring and reporting/dashboard development.
- Work in close partnership with in-house production and agency production teams to ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met.
- Responds to field communicators to assist with the strategy implementation, delivery of tools and messaging.
- Write stories for the WM Media Room
- Work with and visit local sites to capture content of WM people and facilities.
- May need to execute on-site storytelling at company or customer events (WM Phoenix Open, sports sponsorships, etc.)
- Stay current with industry/social/advertising and cultural trends.
- Passion for all things social media
- Ability to creatively produce for all video formats, as well as static image-based content
- Have strong written and verbal communication to internal and external stakeholders within WM
- Passionate and able to create high production to low production social media content
- Intermediate knowledge of social media management tools (eg; Sprinklr preferred, or Salesforce Social Studio, Sprout Social or similar)
- Ability to operate with integrity in potentially sensitive situations
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and other editing software preferred
- Proficiency in social media editing apps such as Canva and native platform tools Ability to effectively collaborate with creative team members and provide clear creative direction Ability to mine for stories and content in every experience to highlight WM
- Possess proficient knowledge of all social media platforms including insights and capabilities and trends in marketing and social media
- Autonomous, highly motivated and goal-oriented

I. Job Summary
The Social Media Specialist will report to the Social Media Manager and will support the corporate communications department in the tactical day-to-day execution of social media and other communications initiatives as needed. This role will build relationships with key stakeholders to learn the different aspects of WM’s business in order to effectively communicate the business’ priorities.

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Communication, Journalism or Public Relations, or in lieu of degree Required and High School Diploma or GED (accredited) Required and2-3 years of relevant work
Experience: 2-3 years previous experience in a communications department or agency (in addition to education requirement)

Normal setting for this job is: office setting.The salary range for this position is $69,000 – $90,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s relevant experience, education, training, certifications, qualifications, and work location.
