- When applicable and allowed, provide therapy services under the direct clinical supervision of the Director of Behavioral Health, pursuant to guidelines set forth by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences and Elica Policy and Procedures.
- Support and coordinate mental health care with the patient’s care team and other members of the Behavioral Health Care Team (such as LCSW, Social Worker, and/or psychiatric clinician).
- Assess patients’ need for behavioral health services and recommend, provide or facilitate referrals to behavioral health resources within Elica as well as outside of the organization as needed.
- Participate in regular case consultation meetings with the Behavioral Health Care Team. Communicate patient updates with the patients’ Primary Care Provider.
- Screen and assess patients for common mental health issues as needed.
- Discuss patients’ concerns with them and provide brief, evidence-based counseling as appropriate to education, training, and licensure.
- Help calm and stabilize patients in crisis as needed and as appropriate to education, training, and licensure.
- Conduct outreach to patients in need of follow-up from existing Behavioral Health care and/or referrals.
- Registered and in good standing with the California Board of Behavioral Science as an ASW
- MSW degree or other applicable degree with experience (MPH, MHA) from an accredited program
- Experience in brief evidence-based intervention and counseling
- Strong oral, written and electronic communication skills
- Flexibility and initiative in varied responsibilities and duties
- Desire and ability to interact effectively with patients and professionals from diverse backgrounds
- Knowledge of HIPAA, privacy, consent, and ethical concerns as related to behavioral health care
- Must have a current and valid California driver’s license and the ability to provide proof of personal auto insurance on the vehicle driven during working hours.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Social Worker coordinates the linkage of patients with appropriate Behavioral Health care resources. These resources include services provided by Elica, such as talk therapy, or psychiatric assessment and management, as well as resources outside of Elica. The Social Worker works with the other members of the BH care team and the medical care team to identify the best care for patients. The Social Worker utilizes their training and expertise to advise patients, assess needs, and help them access care.

Compensation Dependent Upon Experience
