      SUMMARY

      Family Service League is seeking a part-time Remote Hotline Social Worker for the DASH (Diagnostic, Assessment, and Stabilization Hub) Crisis Center in Hauppauge. The Hotline Social Worker plays a vital role in providing crisis de-escalation, assessment, and warm line support for the 24/7 Crisis Hotline serving Suffolk County. This remote position is an integral part of DASH's 24/7 Crisis Stabilization Center and the 988 Provider Network, offering immediate assistance and guidance to individuals in mental health crises. Must reside in NYS for this position.

      RESPONSIBILITIES

      • The Hotline Social Worker will answer incoming crisis hotline calls which will require clinical assessment, risk assessment, de-escalation, and linkage to services for adults, adolescents, and children with the full range of DSM diagnoses (including both mental health and substance use disorders).
      • Engage collaterals including family and outside providers to best address and manage individual’s needs during a crisis.
      • Regular conferencing with on-site supervisors virtually or by telephone.
      • Completion of all clinical documentation in accordance with regulations in an electronic medical record.
      • The Hotline Social Worker will conduct follow up calls to clients and providers to ensure stabilization and linkage following a crisis episode.
      • Assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization.
      • Set priorities, develop a work schedule, monitor progress towards goals, and track details, data, information, and activities.
      • The Hotline Social Worker will assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
      • Utilize multiple software and programs to allow on-site supervisors to monitor your productivity and engage in regular communication throughout each shift.
      • Complete training and maintain proficiency with de-escalation techniques.
      • Follow FSL’s remote work policy, ensuring a HIPPA compliant workspace.
      • Initial on-site training required, as well as periodic required on-site shifts for training and supervision.
      • All other duties as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Master’s degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling or other relevant degree is required.

      Relevant clinical licensure LMSW, LMHC, LCSW, Limited Permit, or equivalent required.

      A minimum of six months’ experience in a behavioral health setting is required; Clinical experience is preferred.

      Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office, required. Experience with an Electronic Health Record is preferred.

      Fluency in Spanish is preferred.

      Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others both internally and externally to achieve goals of the organization.

      Must possess strong communication skills, verbally and in writing.

      Ability to foster teamwork, including working cooperatively and effectively with others to set goals, resolve problems and make decisions.

      Daytime and weekend availability required.
