      Job Summary

      The Social Worker is responsible for the planning and delivery of family-centered patient care through a collaborative, multi-disciplinary process including the patient and family, nurses, social workers, physicians, other practitioners, caregivers, and the community. Advocates for and assists in the achievement of optimal health, access to care, and to utilize the appropriate resources. The care coordination process provides a full range of social work services and assists in meeting the psycho-social needs of patients and their families under the supervision of a licensed social worker. Provides supervision of MSW social workers to aid in their advancement of LCSW requirements.

      Pay Range

      Minimum $82,909 Midpoint $109,845 Maximum $136,802

      Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.

      Experience

      Required: Minimum two (2) years of pediatric hospital experience at a children's hospital.

      Preferred: Five (5) years of pediatric hospital experience at a children's hospital.

      Education

      Required: Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of Social Work. Supervision Training is required.

      Training

      Required: None required.

      Preferred: Training or experience in Foster Care, Mental Health, Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Elder Abuse.

      Specialized Skills

      Required: Leadership, communication, conflict resolution, cultural sensitivity. Advanced skills to be a preceptor, mentor, and supervision of training in the social work area. Ability to work effectively under pressure due to changing priorities. Excellent interpersonal communication, including conflict resolution, problem solving, and negotiation skills. Clinical knowledge of multiple age groups, medical illness and treatment plans according to disease process and diagnosis. Strong organizational and time management skills, as evidenced by capacity to multi-task and prioritize. Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in interactions with physicians, patients, and their families. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to communicate with internal and outside resources and agencies. Must be proficient in required competencies upon completion of orientation and maintain annual departmental competency requirements. Ability to work collaboratively regardless of social, economic and cultural backgrounds. Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.

      Preferred: Bilingual in English/ Spanish

      Required: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
