  About the Role

  On the Student Core team, we strive to create an immersive profile for students pertaining to the core personal data such as holds, and features that support special populations that might require differing accommodations to reduce the manual efforts of our higher ed customers and support the ongoing student experience.

  
  We operate in an Agile environment, and often have to balance current customers while at the same time building new functionality. We have fun, are honest when issues arise, and work hard to solve the many challenges faced by our customers. The Ideal candidate will have the technical ability and an appetite for solving problems and continuously delivering and improving software at the highest quality.

  In this role, you will:

  • Collaborate with Product Managers and QA Engineers on functional design and analysis of requirements

  • Design and develop a product in a metadata-driven development environment

  • Build and maintain robust, efficient and maintainable code using an object-oriented framework and class modeling

  • Build and maintain reliable automated tests

  • Troubleshoot customer reported issues

  • Mentor and learn from other team members through pair programming, code reviews, hackathons, etc.

  About You

  Basic Qualifications:

  P3 Software Application Engineer

  • 5+ years experience with UML, Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service) technologies

  • 5+ years of experience with OO design and development in an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, XO, etc.

  • 5+ years of experience designing/developing business applications

  • 5+ years of experience with design and analysis of software for performance

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience

  P4 Sr Software Application Engineer

  • 8+ years experience with UML, Web application development or SaaS (Software as a Service) technologies

  • 8+ years of experience with OO design and development in an object-oriented language such as Java, Python, C#, C++, XO, etc.

  • 8+ years of experience designing/developing business applications

  • 8+ years of experience with design and analysis of software for performance

  • Bachelor's degree in a computer related field or equivalent work experience

  Other Qualifications:

  • Must be a collaborative teammate with good verbal and written communication skills

  • Experience with XML and Integration technologies is a plus

  • You feel the key to good object oriented development is strong design patterns

  • You believe applications should be usable and configurable

  Workday pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Workday Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
