Job Description

- The Software Developer will be responsible for using their knowledge of programming languages to design and develop software. This individual should be a team player with a keen eye for detail and problem-solving skills, experienced in Agile frameworks and popular coding languages.
- Duties include meeting with clients to determine their software needs, coding, and testing software to ensure functionality and updating software programs to refine components such as cybersecurity measures.
- Gather and assist in the preparation of epics and features based on customer needs.
- Analyze and translate to both user stories and development tasks.
- Produce clean, efficient code based on specifications
- Integrate software components and third-party programs
- Verify and deploy programs and systems
- Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software
- Gather and evaluate user feedback
- Recommend and execute improvements
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
- SENIOR LEVEL: 10+ years of relevant experience and a STEM BS degree or 7 years relevant experience and a MS degree in computer science or systems engineering.
- MID LEVEL: 3-10 years’ relevant experience and a STEM BS degree
- Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer, or similar role
- Experience with Agile development methodologies
- Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment
- Strong demonstrated experience working with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server) and developing database-driven applications
- Demonstrated Cloud experience with either Amazon Web Services, or Azure App Services including Azure Pipeline and Azure Functions
- Demonstrated experience deploying and maintaining APIs on AWS infrastructure, or Azure
- Ability to show proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as .NET, .NET Core, C#, Java, or Python
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
- Attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance, for which one must be a US citizen.
- Agile, Lean, DevOps, Cloud, Security+ or other professional certification
- Familiar with federal IT standards and federal security standards strongly desired
- Hands-on experience using agile software development methodologies and practices such as Test Driven Design (TDD). Familiarity with developing tests using NUnit and using tools such as Atlassian Jira
- Demonstrated experience with Power BI development
- Experience using Object Role Models (ORM) such as the Entity Framework / LINQ to SQL
- Experience with Distributed Source Control tools such as Git
- Ability to manipulate and analyze data
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with a team of software developers
- Experience working in a consultant/client environment
