      Test Automation Developer, Front-End Technology

      This is a hybrid position based out of our office location in Ottawa! You will be expected to work in a hybrid model with a minimum of working in the office 3 days a week.

      About the role

      As a member of our QA team, you will focus your skills and experience on designing, developing, and documenting complex automated test procedures for our RapidResponse™ product. This position focuses on testing the Java version of the client and related support applications (C#). You will be especially valuable in helping improve our existing framework and improving the efficiency and reliability of our existing tests.

      What you will do

      • Review and understand application features and interfaces.
      • Review product specification and requirements.
      • Collaborate closely with development and project management in an Agile work environment.
      • Create test plan/strategies for new functionality.
      • Contribute to test improvement initiative by exploring new software test techniques and evolving automated test infrastructure.
      • Plan and implement new automated tests, primarily in Junit, and MSTest
      • Contribute to a variety of test activities throughout the feature development lifecycle, including maintaining test environments, triaging failures, manual testing, etc.

      What we are looking for

      • Post secondary education in computer science or software engineering or equivalent
      • 3-5 years of experience in a software development or software test development position
      • 3-5 years of experience with Java is a must
      • Experience in automation of Enterprise grade applications
      • Experience with a variety of test frameworks (Junit, NUnit, MSTest, etc.)
      • Experience with Selenium would be a bonus
      • Experience testing REST/SOAP endpoints would be a bonus
      • Use of source control systems like Git
      • Working knowledge of C#
      • Familiarity with build tools like Jenkins is preferred
      • Strong communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills
