      US: Hiring Range in USD from: $96,800 to $223,400 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

      Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
      Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

      Responsibilities

      As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in defining and evolving standard software engineering practices, architecture and procedures. You will be responsible for defining, developing, designing, and debugging Cloud Scale Distributed Systems and Services, and you will also provide mentorship for other engineers. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical in an area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area.

      You will own software development of significant features in Oracle Cloud's Database Service offerings. You should be comfortable with development in C/C++ and be willing to learn new languages as needed. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

      Preferred qualifications:

      • 3-5+ years of professional software development experience or 4+ years with an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Engineering.
      • Strong technical skills with a proven record of designing and developing cloud-scale systems, highly available distributed systems, or databases.
      • Deep understanding of Computer Science basics like Operating System Internals, Networking, Architecture
      • Strong experience with data structures, algorithms, concurrency, multi-threading, object-oriented design
      • Deep knowledge of database internals, database management, and life cycle management is a huge plus.
      • Proficiency in developing large production projects written in modern C, C++
      • Knowledge or experience working with open source databases like PostgreSQL is a plus
