      Job overview:

      Ross Video’s Hyperconverged Signal Processing team develops cutting-edge media platforms that blend routing, signal processing, and format conversion in powerful and flexible ways. Our solutions are trusted by top-tier broadcasters around the world to handle real-time video and audio in the most demanding live production environments.

      As an Embedded Software Developer, you will design and deliver Linux-based Board Support Packages (BSPs) and embedded software for our next-generation video processing hardware. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a small, agile team environment and wants to help shape both the product and the underlying technology stack. You’ll collaborate closely with hardware, FPGA, and software teams to bring innovative solutions to market.

      What the job is all about:

      What you’ll do

      • Deliver high-quality embedded software in C and/or C++ for Linux-based systems.
      • Contribute to BSP development, including bootloaders, device drivers, and low-level system integration.
      • Debug and troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues in real-time environments.
      • Clarify requirements, participate in feature definition, and document design decisions.
      • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration with FPGAs and video processing pipelines.
      • Participate in agile development processes including sprint planning and retrospectives.

      How you’ll grow

      • Deepen your understanding of embedded Linux development, including kernel customization and driver integration.
      • Gain exposure to real-time video processing systems and broadcast workflows.
      • Learn from senior developers through peer reviews, mentoring, and pair debugging.
      • Contribute to modular hardware platforms like OpenGear, Ultrix, and SoftGear.

      Who you are:

      • 0-3 years of experience in embedded software development.
      • If fresh graduate, Past Coop in embedded positions will be considered as relevant experience.
      • Proficiency in C and/or C++ in a Linux environment.
      • Familiarity with embedded toolchains, cross-compilation, and BSP development.
      • Strong problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to debugging.
      • Comfortable working closely with hardware and interpreting datasheets or schematics.
      • Experience with version control systems such as Git or SVN.
      • Clear communicator—able to articulate technical ideas and collaborate across disciplines.

      Bonus points if you have:

      • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols across various OSI layers.
      • Experience with media processing tools like GStreamer or FFmpeg.
      • Exposure to cloud deployment environments or containerization technologies.
      • Knowledge of Linux kernel development and device driver integration.
      • Experience using Yocto, Buildroot, or similar embedded Linux distributions.
      • Understanding of embedded system security principles (e.g., secure boot, encryption).

      Please note that this is a 6-month contract position
