- Be the technical lead for enhancement and maintenance of in-house developed capabilities within Digital Forensics as created by other enabling areas of AFP Digital Forensics.
- Scope, develop and deliver new in-house capabilities that help support Digital Forensic teams.
- Drive DevOps practises within AFP Digital Forensics in regards to the enhancement and maintenance of existing and new in-house developed capabilities.
- Assist with the planning and maintenance of infrastructure to support in-house developed capabilities as well as daily Digital Forensic activities.

- A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one

Relevant Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Technology

Strong software development skills in multiple programming languages dealing with Front-end (React, Vue, JavaScript), Back-end (Python, Golang, Java) and Database (SQL, NoSQL) technologies

Demonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior developers

What is the role?
Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Senior Software Developer / Systems Administrator (Technical Specialist Framework - Level 3).
Digital Forensics Evidence Operations Network (EON) Support Team currently maintain and enhance capabilities utilised by Digital Forensic Examiners on a daily basis. Alongside the Chief Information Officer Command, the EON Support team also work to maintain and enhance the EON Environment, which holds and processes all Digital Forensic Evidence within the AFP.
The successful candidate will be working alongside Junior Software Developers, System Administrators and Digital Forensic Examiners. You will be the lead in driving the technical direction of Software Development and in-house developed capabilities pertaining to Digital Forensics. A Technical Specialist role does not hold any leadership or financial delegations.
You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.
