We are currently in the early stages of implementing a hybrid working environment, which means that many colleagues spend part of their working hours at home and part in the office, depending on the nature of the role they are in. We’re flexible on how this works and it may continue to change and evolve. Depending on your team, typically this means that colleagues spend a minimum of between 20% to 60% of their time in the office, which could be over a week, a month or a quarter. However, some colleagues may choose to spend more time in the office over a typical period than their role type requires. We also have a flexible working process where, subject to business needs, all colleagues globally are able to request work patterns to reflect their personal circumstances These requests will be reviewed and agreed for a period of time i.e., will have a start and end date.

As a successful candidate, you will be involved as Software Developer to support the Test team with knowledge in Automation testing. As a successful candidate you should have knowledge on server side development (C#, n-tier architecture, WCF, windows services, MS SQL), with some elements of web development (ASP.NET, JavaScript), depending on your skills and experience. you will be involved in developing inhouse tools for performing middle tier validations and running the cases to be part of continuous integration of builds, which could be further extended in increasing automated regression capabilities.
Innovative ideas are encouraged and you will be also given an opportunity to receive training to support your development needs.
Our projects have adopted Agile-DevOps methodology and are therefore able to deliver changes to the business at a short notice, whilst making the business users an integral part of the application design process. Self-driven, is proactive and demonstrates initiative, and strong problem solving abilities. Candidate should have strong collaborative nature, and ability to see the whole picture. Prior experience or working knowledge on any Automation tool using BDD framework will be big plus.
What will you be doing?o Development experience with working knowledge of C# .Net.
o Automation knowledge and willing to learn BDD Framework Development using SpecFlow.
o Knowledge of Developing & Executing Automation Test Suits in Agile Methodology.
o Able to convert high-level test requirements into reliable, repeatable, and maintainable automation scripts.
o Ability to automate new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities with in Sprint.
o Experienced in Analysing Automation Results, Defect reporting and reporting of Results for Sprint and Releases.
o Flexible enough to support Automation Testing and move on to other Test Automation Tools as per Requirements and Organization Roadmap.
o Understands the overall System Design and is able to contribute for in-house tool development for testing requirement
o Is responsible for understanding the System Architecture and analysing the Testing requirement.
o Identifies and implements improvements to existing procedures and team processes to enhance tool and testing efficiency.
o Writes well structured, high quality and performant code
o Experienced in writing SQL queries to perform backend testing.
o Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile[DevOps] Framework.
o Knowledge of all types of testing – integration testing, system testing, functional testing, UI testing.
o Adhere to the project testing schedules and flag immediately if there is a risk of slippage.
o Detailed hands on testing of new functionalities & regression of existing functionalities
o Identifying test conditions from project documentation and developing test cases which provide full coverage
o Liaise and work closely with the stakeholders in different phases of Agile Framework. Coordination with the business stakeholders during the SIT & UAT stage as applicable
o Ability to work in global environment with people from diverse cultural backgrounds
o Work closely with developers, business stakeholders and act as an integral part of the software development team using an iterative development process.
o Experience of Scripting and Execution of Enterprise suit of Investment banking applications.
o Strong Problem Analysis & Resolution skills.
o Profound insight to determine priorities, schedule work, and meet critical deadlines.
o Good Analytical skill, Good Communication skill, Interpersonal Skills, Proactive, Capability of thinking through a scenario.
o Works closely with team members in London, New York and Prague - participating in and contributing to Functional and Technical discussions

• Participate in tasks at org level like training/social activities to promote Barclays cultureSkills that will help you in the role:
• Development experience in the IT industry.
• Knowledge of BDD using Specflow.
• Working knowledge of .Net and C#
• Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming, exposure to design patterns
• Understanding of web application architecture XML, WebServices (SOAP), MQ
• Strong SQL Skills is a Must (primarily writing SQL queries)
• Knowledge of Messaging technology like Websphere MQ
• Knowledge of Version management Tools like git
• Experience with WCF or any similar web services technology is an advantage
• Knowledge of source control tools, full knowledge of the software development life cycle
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
