- Conduct system vulnerability and compliance assessments and remediation across OS, with a focus on networking.
- Support the creation and delivery of security awareness training programs.
- Prepare reports on security incidents and trends, providing analyses and mitigation recommendations.
- Resolve internal and external defects via GNATS.
- Contribute to new product development, ensuring new code is secure against vulnerabilities like Denial of Service Attacks.
- Collaborate with senior analysts to maintain security monitoring tools and improve incident detection and response strategies.
- Perform FIPS and common criteria certifications on major releases.
- Review functional and design specifications from a security perspective.
- Minimum 1 year of security engineering experience (internship or full-time).
- Bachelor's degree in EE, CS, Computer Engineering, or Security Engineering.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team under strict deadlines.
- Experience with Linux or FreeBSD operating systems.
- Proficiency in Python, C, Java, RUST, R, or MYSQL.
- Familiarity with GIT or other repositories.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of TCP/IP and the OSI model layers two and three.
- Ability to interpret industry standards such as IETF RFCs.

As a Cyber Security Software Engineer, you will resolve security defects filed internally or by customers, analyze security alerts, and assist in resolving security incidents. You will help implement security controls, conduct audits, and support security awareness initiatives to safeguard our operating systems from cyber threats.

Salary Range: $102,400.48 - $147,198.90/year. Compensation includes medical benefits, 401(k), vacation, sick leave, and parental leave. The final salary may vary based on experience, skills, and market factors. Employment is at-will, and the company reserves the right to modify compensation and benefits.
