JOB TITLE: Software Engineer
LOCATION: 2702 Love Field Drive Dallas, TX 75235 and telecommute role, may work remotely from any State in the U.S. where Southwest Airlines operates and where approved by Southwest.
DUTIES: Design, write program code, test, document, and implement functionally appropriate, well-integrated application systems in accordance with Customer requirements, organizational methodologies, and standards. Respond to production problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas. Apply knowledge and skills of software development and testing effectively to solve a range of problems. Create applications using Java language and deploying in AWS cloud environment as per business needs. Work alongside other engineers on the team to elevate technology and consistently apply best practices. Write code and review with other team members and verify the code of other team members before deploying to production. Write Lambda functions in Java and utilize the AWS S3 buckets for storing the files and retrieve using API calls in the code as per business needs. Write the scripts for Amazon DynamoDB which could create schemeless tables which data can be consumed by the Applications in the cloud and shows results as per business needs. Collaborate closely with customers and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals. Document each aspect of a system or application as a reference for future upgrades and maintenance. Determine and assess the needs of the user and then create software to meet the requirements. Identify and resolve issues that arise during the design, testing and maintenance processes using problem-solving skills. Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software. Prepare and install solutions by determining and designing system.
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, and 3 years of experience in the job offered or as a Software Developer, System Engineer, App Developer, or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 3 years performing:
