      As a Senior Software Engineer on our Cloud Platform team, you will

      • Work in a team of talented developers split across the US and India in a hybrid working environment.
      • Need to be comfortable working in a large code base, coordinating complex projects serving several feature teams. You will have had experience shipping substantial apps and frameworks.
      • Have a keen eye on improving developer productivity
      • Have a desire to write high quality technical documentation in proposal stage and post-implementation as you guide feature team developers through best practises. With a clear and empathetic approach you will help share knowledge.
      • Take responsibility to solve highly complex technical problems, with a knowledge of industry best practices.
      • Be proactive in helping fellow developers, providing high-quality PR reviews, and feedback.
      • Show strong mentoring skills to help develop others in the team.
      • Be curious on new developments and technologies within the Ford Cloud ecosystem and be sharing these with the internal developer community at Ford.
      • Take ownership of your work, working to increase the customer and business impact of your team.
      • Be capable of acting as a leader and role model, through example of outstanding communication and collaboration.
      • Not afraid of ambiguity, and willing to try new approaches.
      • Work with small, international teams to build an event driven system that delivers the right data at the right time to customers across the Ford ecosystem.
      • Build scalable, performant, and well operationalized systems.
      • Provide thought leadership, architectural expertise, and manage [EL(1] cross-team integration
      • Ship high-quality, well-tested, secure, and maintainable code
      • Participate in design discussions about new features and ensure our services integrate seamlessly with other pieces of the platform
      • Solve big problems once and share your solutions across the organization. Be a force multiplier for Ford.

      Qualifications

      Our Preferred Requirements:

      • Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
      • Strong working in CI/CD environments [EL(1] [B(2]
      • Experience with software operations (DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Observability, Support and Maintenance) [debugging in local environment, tracing production problems, performance testing, load testing]
      • Strong Experience in Java, Kotlin or Go as well as both Object Oriented and Functional programming.
      • Familiarity with a scripting in languages such as Python or Ruby.
      • Strong background developing Rest APIs
      • Background working with event driven architectures
      • You have a strong sense of ownership over your code and embrace moving from ADRs to Production, providing solid tests and working with our SRE team to define and implement operational features

      Responsibilities

      Minimum Requirements we seek:

      • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
      • 5+ years of Software Engineering and implementation experience in Java, Go or similar programming languages
      • A strong software testing ethos and preference for working in an agile environment.
      • Experience and desire to deliver an exceptional end product to customers around the world.
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication style to the audience and influence peers cross-functionally.
      • Demonstrated ability to work in robust and fast paced environment targeting a major transformation.
      • Experience building and shipping production grade software or services.
      • Have a deep desire to work closely, solve problems with groups, find win/win solutions and celebrate successes with other smart engineers.
