- Capture and analyze business requirements from clients on needs for reports, dashboards, applications utilizing the Power BI platform
- Develop complex ETL processes to pull data from multiple sources in Power BI warehouses
- Design and create complex reporting solutions and ensure alignment to existing Power BI reporting standards and procedures to ensure consistency across the portfolio. Including:
- Standard reporting color palettes, fonts, etc.
- Reporting header and footer standards
- Dashboard and report layout configurations
- Effective screen real estate standards
- Naming conventions
- Metadata standards
- Other pertinent standards for an enterprise Power BI deployment.
- Understand and follow established Software Development Lifecycle Process.
- Assist with providing estimates.
- Develop technical documentation.
- Participate in agile team environment.
- BA/BS degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience in computer application design and/or development.
- Experience in a multi-platform environment in application and database development.
- Experience in a traditional data or analytics corporate environment
- Strong knowledge of data structures, data integration, data warehousing, data transformation and consolidation, and integration of data sets. Demonstrated understanding of BI and Business Analysis techniques.
- Strong knowledge of Power BI Desktop, Power BI Service (Cloud Platform) and Premium tenant solutions.
- You are highly self-motivated and self-directed.
- You have the vision and mindset to identify, handle, and resolve problems quickly before they become recurring issues.
- You can work successfully in a multi-task, multi-project development environment.
- You can communicate effectively and work well in project teams while continuously learning from peers.
- You can provide clear, concise, and effective verbal and written communications regularly to ensure that project stakeholders are informed of project status.

- Experience in Azure Synapse Analytics
- Experience with Team Foundation Server, DevOps and/or the Agile Framework
- Familiarity with the Microsoft Power Platform suite
- Familiarity with Microsoft Fabric
- Familiarity with Hanford Site applications, systems and infrastructure

The company’s focus is facilities operation and maintenance, waste management and radiological services, security control and force protection, and environmental services.
The Richland site project’s primary focus is providing mission critical support for the Hanford site in the areas of Cyber Security, IT Infrastructure deployment and management to include network operations, End User Support services, Application Engineering with emphasis on software development and support, Records Management, and Project Management for the execution across the spectrum of provided services.
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Software Engineer II is part of a strong team providing software engineering support to design, develop, operate, and maintain software programs. Software engineering support also includes the assessment, maintenance, documentation, modernization, testing, and implementation functions.
The Software Engineer II will provide software support and development at the Hanford site. In this position, the Software Engineer shall be able to assist clients in all areas of Power BI support including the development of data reports, dashboards, applications and other pertinent areas; however, this position will focus the majority of their efforts on the development, deployment, and management of the Power BI data warehouse functions which support reporting through the Power BI infrastructure.
