      U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer in Irving, Texas.

      Essential Responsibilities:

      The Software Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing scalable and maintainable microservices using Java and Spring Boot. Essential responsibilities include: deploy microservices to on-premises software and AWS; manage containers using Docker and Kubernetes; create and manage APIs using REST, and integrate with third-party APIs; monitor application performance and availability using Splunk for identifying and resolving issues; implement messaging systems using Kafka and create consumers and producers to handle message processing; design and implement the configuring topics in new Kafka cluster in all environments; use Kafka streams to consume data from the Kafka topics; build and maintain databases using SQL server and Aurora DB; optimize database queries for performance and scalability; implement security measures such as encryption, authentication and authorization to protect data and user information; use cloud providers such as AWS and Azure to deploy and manage applications; utilize services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and more; develop and implement continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools such as Jenkins and Bitbucket; utilize containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes to manage application infrastructure; utilize Git for version control and working with development teams to merge changes and resolve conflicts; collaborate with product owners, designers and stakeholders to define and refine product requirements and user stories; and write automated tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito to ensure code quality and maintainability. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.

      Basic Qualifications:

      Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus 2 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer. Will accept a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering plus 5 years of experience as a Software Engineer or Software Developer in lieu of a Master’s degree plus 2 years of experience.

      Required Skills/Experience:
      Must possess 2 years of experience with Master’s or 5 years of experience with Bachelor’s with: microservices architecture to develop applications; Java; Spring Boot and Spring Boot based applications; Spring Batch and Spring Batch framework; Kafka topics, streams, and clusters; CI/CD pipelines for code deployment; React JS; Restful webservices; Spring MVC; microservices; Junit; GIT; Open shift; Eclipse; Hibernate; JSON; HTML; CSS; Typescript; Postgres; Splunk; Mockito; JSON; and Agile methodology. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location.
