      Job Description:

      Cox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineering Intern to join our Enterprise Platforms Public Cloud team in Atlanta, Georgia. As a Software Engineering intern, on the Public Cloud team you would be working with an multi skilled Agile team that is leading our organization to a DevOps process model. You will be using proven software development practices for managing and provisioning applications while leveraging configuration management tools such as Ansible and scripting languages including Python.

      Technology We Use

      • OS/Cloud: Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, Unix

      • Languages: Python, Java, JavaScript, Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL

      • Other: Git, Ansible, Ansible Tower, Jenkins

      Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

      • Work in Agile Delivery team participating in all meetings and ceremonies
      • Collaborating closely with all the other members of the team to take shared responsibility for the overall efforts that the team has committed to
      • Planning and estimating development tasks with other developers that are required to fulfill a story
      • Contributing to solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems
      • Perform data analysis, coding, testing, integration and maintenance of applications
      • Perform trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary

      Qualifications

      Minimum:

      • Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program. (Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD)

      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Proficient programming, unit and system testing skills
      • Ability to synthesize information quickly at a high level and makes decisions in ambiguous situations
      • Ability to pay strong attention to detail, and collaborate and function effectively in a team environment and independently on complex problems
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, curiosity and hunger to learn new technologies

      Preferred:

      • Computer Science, MIS, or Engineering major
      • Strong problem-solving skills
      • Experience in analysis, design and programming
      • Proficient programming, unit and system testing skills for all levels of complexity
      • Experience with application lifecycle methodologies (e.g. agile, iterative)
      • Ability to synthesize information quickly at a high level and makes decisions in ambiguous situations
      • Ability to pay strong attention to detail, and collaborate and function effectively in a team environment and independently on complex problems
      • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, curiosity and hunger to learn new technologies

      Intern/Co-Op sessions are considered temporary employment. No full-time employment commitments are made. However, depending on our business needs, some interns may be considered for a full-time position following the conclusion of the session conditioned upon the intern graduating from their academic program and being available to commence full-time employment at a specified time.
