Requires coursework within Computer Science, Programming, or other relevant Development field of study.
Experience in either software development projects or software integration projects in a service-oriented environment (Cloud, SOA, Web-Services) or virtualization environment.
Familiarity with modern Javascript development framework
Familiarity with unit testing, continuous integration tools, and git version control.
Proactive self-starter demonstrating a positive, willing attitude and excellent oral and written communication skills.
Organizational Skills: Can plan and prioritize work. Follows tasks to their logical conclusion and makes sure that everything has been done to the right standard. Good attention to detail.
Communications: Ability to communicate clearly and efficiently to team members and clients, verbally and in writing. Able to present ideas in a variety of ways depending upon audience and context.
Have an active Public Trust clearance.
Ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance.
Familiarity with AWS cloud formation templates.
Familiarity with GitLab and best practices.
Team Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence).
The Leidos Spatial Solutions team has an opening for an entry level software developer to write validation tests against existing GOTS code and integrate open source software solutions for display and analysis within Aeronautical Production Systems. This is an opening for a Summer Internship where the Candidate will get to experience various facets of the program including QA, Development and Security.
Primary Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will involve writing validation tests against existing code baselines to ensure integrity of the code during Agile development efforts. Familiarity with JEST preferred and ability for critical thinking to determine how tests should be written to catch as many potential errors as possible.
Job experience will continue to build and transition into modification of existing GOTS code to integrate open source software solutions for display in a web application. This role includes .NET application development within Redux and React frameworks, using various open source packages for visualization and data filtering and code modifications that shall apply best practices in unit and build testing. Other duties include working with PostgreSQL, Entity, Visual Studio and familiarity with JSON APIs. This role includes documentation of new and existing functionality within software version control repositories (gitlab) and utilizing DevOps principals and tools (Jenkins) to deliver new features within an Agile construct.
The third area of research is under the Security Engineering team where the candidate will learn and participate in various cyber security aspects of the program.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $44,850.00 - $81,075.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
