      At Red Hat interns are an integral part of the team. They don’t get relegated to busywork or unimportant tasks that no one else wants to do, but participate in the day-to-day work and are active contributors to their team.

      We are currently looking for a Software Engineer Intern interested to join us in Toronto, Canada.

      As an intern, you will work closely with your mentor and gain experience on the technical side, and you will be interacting with a broader team both locally and globally.

      What you will do

      • Work closely with your mentor to design, develop, maintain code, and participate in peer code reviews
      • Collaborate with the wider team members such as Quality Engineers, Designers, Product Management, Project/Program Management, Documentation and other departments
      • May work with modern cloud native technology such as: Kubernetes, OpenShift, Vector, Loki, and OpenTelemetery
      • Network with other talented interns in an inclusive and diverse workplace where you can be yourself and thrive

      What you will bring

      • Working knowledge of written and spoken English
      • Passion, curiosity, and desire to create new things and examine how things work internally
      • Basic knowledge of, passion and willingness to use Python, Golang or similar programming language
      • Knowledge of the UNIX or Linux operating system (any distribution)
      • Willingness to learn new things and proactively work as a part of a wider team
