What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Develop and implement Python code that interacts with advanced Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Create, test, and refine prose prompts for LLMs utilizing legal domain knowledge
- Collaborate with legal professionals to gather and understand project requirements
- Integrate language models into multi-step systems and assess their performance
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
What is Required (Qualifications):
- JD or equivalent legal domain expertise, such as experience in legal practice or as a paralegal
- 1-2 years of production-level experience in software engineering, preferably in a startup environment
- Proficiency in Python programming language; strong experience in other programming languages may substitute
- Familiarity with APIs and SQL databases
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience with large language models through coding (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Cohere, Llama, Mistral)
- Strong creative and clear writing skills
- Ability to work independently as well as in a collaborative setting
