      ABOUT THE ROLE

      The backend software engineering teams at Peloton help power experiences across our Product portfolio, including our Bike, Tread, Row and Mobile applications. We enable our members to discover and take live and on-demand classes across any number of fitness disciplines, compete on the leaderboard, connect with other members, take part in fitness challenges, discover new music, and much more.

      YOUR DAILY IMPACT AT PELOTON

      We are looking for collaborative backend software engineers who can work in a fast-paced, iterative environment. You’ll work closely with product managers and frontend software engineers to scope complexity and break down new features into smaller releases.

      You adhere to the highest engineering quality standards to ensure that systems are traceable, reliable, performant and scalable. You'll help guide our efforts in building microservices that are flexible enough to accommodate iterative feature development and rapid growth. You are someone who thinks about simplicity and works to provide solutions that reduce the complexity across services. You are team-focused and prioritize collective learning in addition to solving problems. You build collective ownership amongst the team by contributing to code reviews, designs, whiteboarding, and pair-programming.

      YOU BRING TO PELOTON

      • B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent experience.
      • At least one year of software development experience in a professional setting.
      • Experience with Kotlin, Python, or similar languages
      • Experience building and scaling out RESTful microservices
      • Familiarity with accessing, querying, and writing to data stores like PostgreSQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, Elasticsearch, etc.
      • Proficiency with at least one relational database, e.g. PostGres, MySQL, CockroachDB, etc.
      • Strong understanding of software engineering principles and fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, clean code, and automated testing.

      The base salary range represents the low and high end of the anticipated salary range for this position based at our New York City headquarters. The actual base salary offered for this position will depend on numerous factors including individual performance, business objectives, and if the location for the job changes.       Base Salary Range
      $112,400 $146,100 USD
