DescriptionIf you thrive on solving complex challenges, have a passion for backend development, and aspire to work on highly available, distributed systems, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate backend systems and subsystems for Oracle’s Database Migration Services.
Code in Java, Bash, and/or terraform to implement solutions effectively.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability, scalability, and availability of services.
Build and maintain REST APIs and microservices to support cloud infrastructure.
Operate and manage the cloud service, including troubleshooting and optimizing performance.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of CI/CD processes and DevOps practices.
Ideal Candidate Profile
We’re looking for individuals who:
Have 5+ years of relevant IT experience.
Hold a BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Excel in Java backend development or possess strong DevOps/cloud experience.
Are familiar with REST API design and implementation.
Have solid Linux knowledge, including basic shell scripting (e.g., Bash).
Understand microservice architecture and have experience with Docker.
Bring knowledge of distributed, highly available system design.
Emphasize the importance of unit testing (e.g., JUnit) in their workflow.
Possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to automate routine tasks.
Understand SDLC/Agile/Scrum processes.
Bonus Skills (Not Required but Valued)
Experience with frameworks like Dropwizard, Jetty, or JEE.
Familiarity with dependency injection frameworks (e.g., Spring, Spring Boot, or Guice).
Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
Understanding of CI/CD methodologies and tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven, Gradle).
Technical expertise in Application/Server/Storage/Network troubleshooting.
Familiarity with Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) or Oracle Database.
Comfortable to use jira for planning and collaborations.
Personal Attributes
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate confidently with peers and management in technical and business teams.
Proficiency in conveying technical information in English, both in writing and speaking.
Collaborative mindset with excellent global team-working skills.
Self-motivated, enthusiastic, and adaptable to a changing environment.
Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a multi-tasking environment while meeting tight deadlines.
