Job Description

- Work with the team to design and implement software utilizing clean, testable, high-quality code
- Become a dedicated participant in your Agile Scrum team
- Collaborate with other members of the Scrum team to self-manage feature development to completion
- Participate in Sprint Reviews of completed functionality at the end of each sprint
- Participate in Sprint planning of future development tasks
- Be responsible for all Software Engineer-level duties, including creating, maintaining, and modifying programming code, as well as developing and improving coding standards and procedures
- Has the ability to work from Applied Systems offices in, Chicago, IL, Salt Lake City, UT or Toronto, ON (at least once a week)
- Has a B.S. in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience

- 2+ years of experience in Full Stack development within a structured organization
- Technical experience with Typescript, React, Node JS, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, GCP
- Proficiency in working with Rest APIs
- Familiarity with Agile frameworks, ideally Scrum or Kanban using tools like Jira and Confluence
- Ability to communicate in a team-oriented environment to clarify requirements and deliver solutions within committed timelines
- A strong work ethic and ability to deliver solutions under a tight deadline
- Ability to provide feedback on coding standards through code reviews
- Proven technical abilities, troubleshooting skills, and research abilities
- Familiarity with unit testing
- Familiarity with DevOps (Git, Docker, Kubernetes)
- Development experience working in the Payments space, Adyen, TSYS, Fiserv, FirstData, NMI, Authnet Gateway

Job Description
Applied Systems, Inc., a worldwide leader in insurance technology, is currently searching for a Software Engineer to play a key role in completing complex programming assignments for our entire suite of insurance automation products. In this role, you will be assigned to the Applied Payments division working on our internal payments systems that develop and supports React, Typescript, and Node JS applications. You will also create technical specifications for these enhancements to our products.
