      Summer 2024 Recruitment Timeline:

      Job Description

      Summer 2024 Internship Program:

      • Applications Close: December 8th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
      • Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
      • Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
      • Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from Universal City, CA 3-5 days per week.

      Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:

      • Peacock, Quality Engineering: The Peacock Direct to Consumer team builds dynamic applications using cutting-edge technology to deliver performant applications, focusing on user experience. We are looking for a dynamic team player who is an owner, accountable and passionate about technology. You will be working on high-visibility applications serving millions of users for industry-leading sporting and entertainment events, such as the Super Bowl, Olympics, Saturday Night Live and America’s Got Talent. If you relish having your efforts on display for millions of users - this is your opportunity. You will have a role in ensuring quality into those great products, applications, services, reduce amount of issues customer might encounter otherwise by proactively identifying, reporting, and tracking for mitigation prior to product launches, you will have an opportunity to work with a world class Quality Engineering team working meticulously to provide the best user experiences for the customers. You will have an opportunity to gain technical skills in the field of quality engineering including test automation and continuous quality improvement processes.

      • IP Security & Technology, Software Development: The IP Analytics, Operations, and Technology team under the Corporate Legal division supports all of NBCUniversal’s content globally with (1) security procedures across the supply chain, (2) Digital Fingerprinting of all NBCUniversal owned content, (3) monitoring & takedown services for digital theft platforms and (4) business intelligence services to measure the demand and supply sides of piracy. You can expect to write and review others’ code, debug and test, help design cloud and application architecture, deploy to production, and learn about networking, databases, and other components of our applications. All the while, you'll be using modern frameworks, languages, libraries, and methodologies to help us build world-class apps and services!

      • Peacock, DevOps: We are seeking an Intern on the TVE Devops team which focuses on managing the infrastructure and support for the TVE Engineering team under DTC Business unit. This intern will work closely with the TVE development and operations teams to support the Engineering teams. Responsibilities include but are not limited to building, testing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tech stack used by the TVE Engineering team, identifying, implementing, and maintaining efficient and reliable CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring the health of software services, automating system health, and maintenance tasks.

      Qualifications

      Basic Requirements:

      • Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
      • Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
      • Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
      • Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

      Desired Characteristics:

      • Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
      • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
      • Knowledge of web and mobile testing concepts and has limited knowledge to debug visual issues and align them with test cases.
      • Basic knowledge of test case writing, test execution and defect reporting.
      • Knowledge or beginner experience with any test management tools for example: Qmetry or Zephyr or Rally.
      • Knowledge or beginner level experience with any Project Management tools for example Jira, Wiki/Confluence.
      • Knowledge on Test Automation concepts, automation frameworks, automation tools for example: selenium, Appium, cucumber, TestNG.
      • Coding and Automation: Python, Java, Node.js ,Terraform etc
      • CICD: Git, Circle CI, Jenkins.
      • Knowledge in AWS Services.

      The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $30.00

      The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $30.00 - $35.00
