      The Mission Systems Summer Engineering Project Program (SEPP) is our Elite Summer Program that has been around since 1995. This program aligns projects from various directorates that support research & partnerships on campus. During the summer each project is aligned with a technical mentor & a defined project plan & milestone. Projects that are chosen for SEPP must be clearly relevant to business needs and introduce students to disciplined engineering rigor and challenges. The project must foster teamwork, diversity of thought and experience. Each project will have a min of 2 students and no more than 3. Mentors commit quality of time and provide coaching and oversight.

      This is an onsite role based out of Richardson, TX; it may be eligible for relocation.


      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Collaborate with Software Engineers, mentors, and project leaders.

      • Develop software within a virtualized environment.

      • Debug and integrate software components.

      • Work in a fast-paced environment and learn quickly as part of a growing team.

      Basic Qualifications:

      • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

      • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract.

      • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements.

      Preferred Qualifications:

      • Minimum GPA of 3.5 of above

      • Students should be at junior or senior status by summer 2024

      • Java programming experience

      • Experience with the Python scripting language

      • Experience with Agile development practices

      Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

      Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.

      The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

      This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
