Job Description
- Req#: 95932
- Gain hands on experience in industry leading technology related to routing, switching or mobile core
- Work on data center and virtualization technologies
- Work with teams that build and test terabit speed routers
- Work with and learn industry standard DevOps tools like git, Nagios etc
- Contribute to product codebase or automation harness using C, C++, Python and Tcl
- Work on customer testbeds using traffic generators and protocol emulators
- Learn to work in a professional environment
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science or a related degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Solid programming skills (C, C++. Python or TCL/TK an asset)
- Knowledge of basic networking including OSI layer, TCP/IP
- Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments
- Strong analytical / troubleshooting skills
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
- Quick learner, self-starter, able to work independently

Job Description:
The successful candidate will work in a team of highly motivated and talented software engineers, responsible for delivering new capabilities on the 7750 Service Router (SR) in Nokia’s IP Division. The Nokia 7750 SR product family provides high-performance networking which helps businesses stay ahead of evolving service demands driven by the cloud, LTE/5G, and the Internet of Things. Work on the world’s highest quality IP router and be part of a team which truly cares and has a passion to win.
Positions are location in Sunnyvale, CA and Westford, MA starting Summer 2022. We encourage to continue their internships through Fall 2022 provided the university permits.

Nokia’s transition to a primary focus on telecommunications began in the 1990s. The first GSM call was made in 1991 using Nokia equipment. Rapid success in the mobile phone sector allowed Nokia to become by 1998, the best-selling mobile phone brand in the world. In 2003 Nokia introduced the first camera phone. In 2011, to address increasing competition from iOS and Android operating systems, Nokia entered into a strategic partnership with Microsoft. In 2014 Nokia sold its mobile and devices division to Microsoft. The creation of Nokia Networks, following the buy-out of joint-venture partner Siemens in 2013, laid the foundation for Nokia’s transformation into primarily a network hardware and software provider. The 2015 acquisition of Franco-American telecommunications equipment provider Alcatel-Lucent greatly broadened the scope of Nokia’s portfolio and customer base. Additional acquisitions have positioned Nokia to be an industry leader in the transition to 5G wireless technology by offering the only end-to-end 5G network portfolio available on a global basis. In 2016 the Nokia brand re-entered the mobile handset market through a licensing agreement with HMD Global, allowing them to offer phones under the Nokia brand.
