      Essential Functions:

      Brief Summary:

      Takes initial system concept ideas and turns them into fully detailed construction ready designs. Working on commercial, industrial, and small utility scale solar projects, this position has a steady pipeline of diverse projects to engineer and balances contractual obligations with sound engineering practices while maintaining compliance with applicable codes.

      • Designs electrical infrastructure in support of photovoltaic systems using knowledge of electrical engineering and solar photovoltaic system design along with industry best practices.
      • Develops construction documents based on customer requirements, sound engineering decision-making, and applicable NEC and CEC code sections.
      • Responds to comments issued by the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) during the permit review process in accordance with company SOP’s, with the intent of expedient issuance of building permits.
      • Provides technical review of submitted system components and ancillary devices for compliance with design specifications.
      • Provides support to field installation personnel by promptly answering all Requests for Information (RFI) in accordance with company SOP’s.
      • Assures product quality by reviewing testing data provided by internal field personnel and 3rd party testing agencies.
      • Provides engineering guidance to the company at large by answering questions and performing internal training upon request.
      • Support all other departments on any and all electrical questions and solve any electrical-related problems that arise before, during, and after construction.

      Knowledge, Skills, and Experience


      Required:

      • Strong verbal / written communication skills in English
      • Ability to multi-task and manage numerous projects simultaneously
      • At least 1-3 years of design or engineering experience related to renewable energy
      • Competence in AutoCAD
      • Well-versed in MS Office
      • Knowledge of photovoltaic systems, NEC requirements, construction practices
      • Ability to effectively prioritize, execute, and adapt/ shift to tasks in a high-pressure environment
      • Must be able to learn, understand, and apply new technologies
      • Valid driver license
      • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering

      Preferred:

      • Competence in PVSyst
      • MS degree in ME or EE or related discipline
      • EIT Certification
