Job Description

- Conduct Quality Inspections: Perform thorough inspections of mechanical and electrical installations at utility-scale solar power plants to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
- Interpret Technical Drawings: Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to verify that installations meet design requirements.
- Utilize Measurement Tools: Use tools such as tape measures, calipers, torque wrenches, and other precision instruments to verify dimensions, alignments, and torque values.
- Identify and Report Non-Conformities: Detect deviations from quality standards, report non-conformities, and collaborate with project teams to address issues promptly.
- Documentation and Follow-Up: Maintain accurate and detailed inspection records, including checklists, reports, and photographic evidence. Follow up on corrective actions to ensure resolution of identified issues.
- Problem Solving: Analyze quality issues, propose solutions, and work with construction teams to implement corrective measures efficiently.
- Ensure Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure that quality processes align with OSHA, NEC, and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with project managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to maintain quality standards throughout the construction process.
- Monitor, Maintain and Validate Punch List Items.
- Experience:Proven experience in utility-scale solar power plant construction or mechanical/electrical inspection roles.
- Experience in other renewable energy, industrial, or construction environments with transferable skills may be considered.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Proficiency with measurement tools, including tape measures, calipers, torque wrenches, and other precision instruments.
- Familiarity with quality control processes and documentation practices.
- Basic computer skills and data entry. Safety Culture is a plus but not required.
- Soft Skills:
- Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to address issues proactively.
- Strong communication skills to report findings and collaborate effectively with team members.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Relevant certifications in solar, electrical, or quality control.
- Training in quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) methodologies is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and navigate construction sites safely.
- Capability to lift 50 lbs. and perform inspections that may require bending, climbing, or standing for extended periods.
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
Job Posting: Solar Quality Tech
Location: Meeker, Colorado
Pay: $25 per hour
Positions Available: 2 QC's specializing in Piles, 2 QC's specializing in Mod Install
Schedule: Monday through Friday, 50 hours per week, Overtime sometimes offered on Saturdays
