      We are hiring a Solar Technician II to join our team! The technician will be responsible for the safe operations and maintenance of solar assets and Balance of Plant (BOP) in Bedford, PA. This position will be a technician who possess in depth knowledge in performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on the solar assets with a goal of improving uptime and production.

      What You Will Do:

      • Coordinate activities related to the Balance of Plant and civil work.

      • Ensure scheduled solar panel maintenance is conducted safely and achieved on time. Conduct accurate time reporting and completion of Maintenance records

      • Identify risks and gaps in task execution in the operational environment of a Solar facility and apply mitigation methods with appropriate oversight.

      • Proactively look for continuous improvement opportunities to job related processes and procedures and communicates these to site management.

      • Support the training & development of other technicians, which may include providing On the Job Training (OJT).

      • Perform data entry in the Maintenance Management System (Maximo)

      Who You Are:

      • A High School Diploma with applied mechanical, electrical, hydraulics. College Diploma or Technical Certificate in an electrical field, or minimum 3 years of Electrical Construction experience.

      • At least 2-4 years of relevant work experience and minimum qualifications related to solar/electrical assets. An equivalent combination of experience and education would be considered

      • Advanced skills with Asset Integrity inspections, Understanding of SCADA, troubleshoot electrical control systems and ability to demonstrate basic industrial safety practices including LOTO.

      • Maintain, test, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance, and repair PV solar equipment (DC and AC) as required

      • Review and adhere to schematics and electrical code specifications

      • Valid Driver’s License and ability to obtain a Passport.

      The successful candidate will undergo various background screening that includes but is not limited to a 5-year driving record, criminal check, a company sponsored medical and drug testing.

      Physical requirements:

      Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

      Mental requirements:

      Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, prioritize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, coordinate and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
