      Role and Responsibilities

      Your Key Responsibilities!

      The Solution Manager Service Management and Orchestrations owns the technical relationship for ORAN Service Management and Orchestration (SMO) with the customer and is the trusted and sought for adviser in all technical questions and decisions of the customer about the SMO. He’s responsible for establishing relationships with technical key influencers as well as decision makers and managing the end-to-end technical sales process for products, solutions and service across the SMO portfolio of Samsung Networks.

      The role’s main purpose is to drive and develop the customer SMO solution based on a thorough understanding of the customers’ objectives, market requirements, Samsung’s solution elements and elements of complementing partner solutions including existing components owned by the customer. A technical solution that solves a customer need is the starting point of any successful sale. The role promotes new solutions to the customer and supports the sales account in selling these solutions by providing value argumentation, solution description materials, dimensioning information and pricing advice.

      The role maintains a good understanding of the market and regulatory environment of the customer including technical trends in the industry. At the same time the role intimately knows the evolution of Samsung Networks’ SMO portfolio including the partner HW and SW platforms as well complementing partner solutions and is able to propose solutions to customer challenges based on this portfolio including new solutions that could have market potential beyond the assigned customer. The Solution Manager is the customer’s advocate towards the R&D organization providing customer requirements and solution rationale.

      Together with the Account Team the Radio Solution Manager identifies technical opportunities for product, solution and service sales across the SMO portfolio of Samsung Networks:

      • Driving the technical sales process and lead the designing of comprehensive and sophisticated technical solutions fully addressing customer needs

      • Designing/collaborating with the customers on sophisticated networking solutions.

      • In conjunction with the Account Manager, initiating proactive customer engagements with existing and prospective customers.

      • Drive up-sell opportunities during the entire process in order to contribute to increased sales volumes.

      • Lead the technical stream of RFI/RFQ/RFP responses as required, including where appropriate designing an efficient SMO solution and associated dimensioning.

      • Lead temporal teams of HQ support personnel.

      • Maintaining a deep technical knowledge of the SMO portfolio and the underlying technologies including 3rd party HW and SW platforms used.

      Skills and Qualifications

      What we need for this role!

      To be successful, you will possess the following skills and attributes:

      • You maintain a good understanding of the market, including competitors and potential tool partners, and regulatory environment of the customer including technical trends in the industry.

      • At the same time you intimately know the evolution of Samsung Networks’ SMO portfolio and underlying 3rd party HW and SW platforms, the evolution of the SMO ecosystem, and are able to propose solutions to customer problems based on a suitable selection from Samsung’s portfolio and partner’s contributions.

      • You have a history of successful Consultative Presales activities including experience working with operators and engaging in technical conversations along with a strong understanding of how they evaluate, purchase, and deploy large scale OAM / SMO systems.

      • You are able to share your knowledge with other technical personnel both within and externally to Samsung in a clear and concise way, to a level of detail appropriate for the audience including senior management.

      You have the ability to influence the senior management of customers towards Samsung preferred

      solutions.

      • You are happy to take ownership for technical decisions.

      • You have an Engineering degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Mathematics, Telecoms or any related field (an equivalent period of industrial experience may be substituted)

      • You have proven experience in the Telecoms industry in a technical role in the operations and maintenance area.

      • You understand operational processes in mobile networks and have experience in automation of operational processes.

      • You have experience in leading (virtual) teams for solution definition and technical sales process execution based on a high level of presentation, communication and planning skills.

      • You maintain detailed knowledge of Mobile Communications Networks in particular operation and maintenance systems.

      • You are fluent in English (speaking and writing)

      Establish close relationships to key personnel of the customer that allows you to understand the customer’s way of thinking about SMO, gather the client's requirements and other valuable information, and over time become a sought for partner inputting to their decision making on SMO and related tools. Building relationships with key personnel – experts and management – in Samsung headquarters that makes you the authoritative source for understanding the customer and the European market for defining fitting SMO solutions.
