      PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:

      The Specialist Sourcing – Corporate and Facilities Services is accountable for the sourcing, procurement, and management of both direct & indirect Spend in accordance with CPKC’s policies and procedures.

      POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES:

      • Develop sourcing and tactical plans for the Corporate and Facilities services portfolio which includes but is not limited to facility construction, maintenance & repair, derailment services, MRO and corporate services i.e. financial and courier services etc.
      • Execute the sourcing process including request for proposal (RFP) development and issuance, negotiations, contract execution and contract management including Ariba and supplier administration
      • Lead the negotiations of contracts with suppliers
      • Review related sourcing compliance measurements for the Corporate and Facilities Services portfolio and initiate required corrective action and/or communication
      • Initiate and coordinate cross functional review of all specifications, sourcing decisions and continuous improvement work with the appropriate agreed upon metrics
      • Execute supplier development process to ensure selected suppliers have a competitive opportunity to meet CPKC requirements
      • Maintain disclosure and procedure controls (Sarbanes–Oxley Act - SOX) for sourcing portfolio
      • Comply with CPKC purchasing policies procedures and business practices
      • Research industry and Class I railroad trends and seek opportunities for CPKC
      • Maintain scorecard reports and sourcing and tactical plans for review with senior management.

      POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

      • Minimum of 2 years of experience in sourcing, contract management and negotiations
      • Post-Secondary education, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or other related field
      • Strong analytical, customer service, written and verbal communication skills
      • Ability to develop and deliver informal and formal presentations and business cases on portfolio specific topics in a credible and confident manner
      • Deep understanding of Supply Chain Management workflow processes
      • Ability to build consensus, influence and resolve conflict
      • Experience conducting analysis of complex data to arrive at measurable recommendations
      • Work under tight timelines; multi task and move a variety of initiatives forward at the same time
      • Good understanding of Ariba and SAP or relevant ERP experience
      • Microsoft Office experience with Excel, Word and Power-point
