      Marlow's Tavern is currently seeking candidates for a Sous Chef role at one of our highest volume tavern locations. This person must have a passion for chef-inspired food, working with fresh ingredients in a scratch kitchen and love working with an awesome group of people every single day!


      Position Purpose for Sous Chef:

      Chef-driven food, quality cocktails and adult beverages are at the heart of Marlow’s Tavern. The role of Sous Chef exists to execute a process that begins with a guest ordering food and ends with a smiling guest having received what they ordered, the way they ordered it. Our chefs execute food preparation using techniques and service standards that reflect a world-class culinary experience for every guest, every time and then some.


      Daily Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

      • Understands and adheres to all food safety and sanitation procedures and promotes a safe work place
      • Communicates with chef, managers and other team members to learn of daily features, events, and important shift information
      • Sets up station with food products and utensils and turns on equipment to ensure the station is ready for production
      • Cuts, slices, unwraps, and prepares raw ingredients (ex. fresh produce, meat cuts) for use on the line and for use in food prep recipes
      • Mixes and assembles recipe ingredients using proper portioning techniques and recipe procedures to create prepared food products
      • Assists Chef in performing final quality station check of all products before to putting into rotation
      • Reads order tickets and/or listens to what dishes are called to determine what items need to be prepared
      • Prepares food items using recipe instructions, proper portioning methods, and cooking standards to fulfill guests’ orders
      • Maintains station and cooking area, pre, post and during a shift to the highest of cleanliness and health standards, in a Marlow’s Way
      • Cleans station floors, counters, tools, cutting boards, and preparation surfaces using the proper cleaning solutions to ensure station remains sanitized
      • Assists other teams members as needed

      Candidates must have the following:

      • Be authorized to work in the US
      • Have reliable transportation
      • Have 2 years of experience working in scratch kitchen
      • Have 2 years prep or line cook experience
      • Have excellent interpersonal and team work skills
      • Able to speak, read, write and understand the primary language (English) used in the tavern
      • Possess basic computational ability
      • Able to taste food & beverage offerings in order to know flavor profile, learn, understand, sell and support preparation of items as necessary for role
      • Able to memorize and replicate food production procedures
      • Able to read prep and service recipes
