- Monitor all aspects of meal production to assure meals are prepared as planned.
- Conduct daily safety and sanitation walk-throughs and taking initiative and control of problem situations.
- Identify needs and quantity required on the daily production sheets.
- Follow proper food-handling techniques at all times.
- Monitor and log food temperatures.
- Complete EcoSure and food safety audits as needed.
- Ability to work as an integral part of the culinary management team.
- Ability to work under pressure and be innovative and willing to take initiative.
- Hours will vary with rotating weekends and holidays.
- Possess high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Must be able to lift weights of up to 60 pounds.
- Stand and/ or walk for 75% of the day.

Kendal at Oberlin's Dining Services is seeking an experienced Sous Chef for a full time position. The Sous Chef will assist the Executive Chef in leading the culinary team in creating, preparing and executing a high quality and distinctive food service and product. Additionally, the Sous Chef will demonstrate excellent culinary and leadership skills to fully support and continually improve the Kendal Dining Program.
